The Seychelles Tourism Board office in Frankfurt kicks off 2018 with participation in key tourism fairs in Germany and Austria

Still fired up about Germany’s performance in 2017, ending the year as Seychelles’ leading market, the Seychelles Tourism Board Office (STB) in Frankfurt kicked off its destination marketing drive for 2018 with the CMT fair in Stuttgart.

The 2018 CMT fair, which was celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, was held from January 13 to 21.

The STB team led by its Director for Germany, Austria & Switzerland, Edith Hunzinger, was joined by trade partners comprising of Mira Schermann and crew of 3 from SeyVillas, as well as Daniel Barone and Jonathan Löffel from VPM Bestsail.

Seychelles Tourism Board hosts successful appreciation evening to recognize trade partners in China

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) hosted its annual appreciation evening for the year 2017, to acknowledge trade partners in China that have been working to promote Seychelles as an ideal travel destination among Chinese travellers. The event was held in Shanghai on January 18, 2018.

The Seychelles Tourism Board’s Chief Executive, Sherin Francis, Director for China Jean-Luc Lai-Lam, Senior Marketing Executives, Elsie Sinon and Sam Yu, Chinese tourism partners, invited guests and Seychellois students in Shanghai, were present at the event.

China – although relatively new, remains an emerging and valued market, which the Seychelles Tourism Board is working to develop to its full potential.

Seychelles represented at the 20th International Dive Show in Paris

Seychelles’ rich, unique and well preserved marine biodiversity, as well as the diverse and impressive diving opportunities around the islands, were showcased at France’s leading event dedicated to the world of sea lovers and divers.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Seychelles Tourism Board has taken part in the Paris International Dive Show [Salon de la Plongée] held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Air Seychelles was also present at the event.

The 20th edition of the international event dedicated to the scuba diving world was held from January 12 to 15, 2018.

Seychelles’ visibility as a ‘diver’s paradise’ was given an added boost at the event, thanks to the participation of Blue Sea Divers – a local dive centre.

Seychelles features among the world’s Top 20 wedding destinations at the ‘Best Wedding Award’ in China

Seychelles has added yet another accolade to its collection at the very start of the year 2018.

The island destination has been named one of the ‘Top 20 Most Beautiful Wedding Destinations in the World’ by People’s Daily – one of the largest and most influential newspapers in China.

This was announced at ‘The Best Wedding Award 2017’ ceremony, held in Beijing on January 9, 2018.

Tourism Minister heads to Pointe Au Sel and Anse Royale on first hotel visit for 2018

The Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Ambassador Maurice Loustau-Lalanne has undertaken his first hotel visit for the year 2018, on Friday last week.

Minister Loustau-Lalanne visited 12 tourism establishments in the districts of Pointe Au Sel and Anse Royale, accompanied by the Principal Secretary for Tourism, Anne Lafortune.

The tourism accommodations visited during this first visit were mostly small Seychellois-owned establishments.

AIR SEYCHELLES ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF REMCO ALTHUIS AS INTERIM CEO

Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, today announced the appointment of Remco Althuis as its Interim Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Roy Kinnear.

Mr Althuis joins the carrier from Etihad Airways, where he held the position of Regional General Manager Europe, with responsibility for the airline’s commercial activities in 17 European markets.

He has also held senior management positions at Air France-KLM and KLM during an aviation career spanning more than 20 years.
