Seychelles' potential to increase visitor numbers from the African region explored at the 2017 Magical Kenya Travel Expo

Seychelles, famed for its powder-white beaches and clear turquoise waters, is seen as a popular destination among travellers from across the globe and while the island destination remains a popular vacation spot for Europeans, the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) is constantly looking for opportunities to develop the potential of other source markets.

The 2017 Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) provided the perfect opportunity for the island destination to raise its profile not only among Kenyan visitors but also among visitors from other countries in the region.

Seychelles Tourism Board adopts new format for roadshow across three Indian cities supplying the most visitors to the islands

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) office in India organised a three-city roadshow in Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai from September 18 to 22, 2017.

Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai send some of the highest numbers of visitors to Seychelles each year. The three cities are also home to travel trade partners that facilitate travel for most holidaymakers from the northern and western parts of India.

Tourism Pioneers plaque unveiled honouring eight significant contributors to the building of the Seychelles’ tourism industry

A plaque bearing the names of eight individuals who have made significant contribution to the Seychelles’ tourism industry was unveiled at the Tourism Pioneers Park on Tuesday, October 2.

This is the second group of tourism pioneers whose names have been engraved on ceramic tiles and displayed at the pioneers park.

Minister Maurice Loustau-Lalanne meeting with  Air France Directors

The Seychelles authorities and Air France discuss coordinated approach ahead of the French carrier’s return to the island nation

The Seychelles authorities have started discussions with Air France following the French carrier’s announcement that it will be operating thrice-weekly flights to Seychelles as from next year.

Air France will start flying to the Indian Ocean archipelago on May 5, 2018, using its new sister airline ‘Joon.’

The first meeting headed by Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Ambassador Maurice Loustau-Lalanne, was held on Monday at the ministry’s headquarters, at Botanical House, Mont Fleuri.

The Seychelles Tourism Board hosted the annual Tourism Ball organised as part of Tourism Week, bringing together representatives from various sectors of the tourism industry.

The Tourism Ball provides an opportunity for stakeholders in the industry to network and socialize in a more relaxed atmosphere.

This year’s tropical themed ball was held at the Eden Bleu hotel on Saturday September 30.

Tourism Department unveils new website and presents Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label certificates to mark Tourism Week

The Tourism Department has launched its official website allowing the general public and trade partners to have easier access to information on the department’s role, as well as the different services it offers.

The Tourism Department falls within the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine. It’s new website -- – provides details of the different sections within the department, statistics, products maintained by the tourism department, news, among other information.
